Through trials by day and labor at night,
I pressed on through all because of one thought.
Her Image remains within my heart's sight,
Her voice was the reason for which I fought.
But now she is gone far beyond my reach,
She has found another whom she can love.
This is a lesson that life tries to teach,
Love is as fleeting as a passing dove.
I remember her form as I held her,
Her warm fragile body in my embrace.
I’ll remember her smile now and forever,
But now she hardly remembers my face.
So now she is gone she’ll never be mine,
I’ll mourn what we had till the end of time.
